Voices from the Fire

We're not here to fix symptoms.

We're here to burn down the root tot and rebuild something real.

Meet Our Board: Jordan

July 27, 20252 min read

🔥 Board Spotlight:

My name is Jordan. I’m a Licensed Social Worker. I'm a wife. I’m a mother of two. And I’m the founder of the Recovery Justice Network Initiative.

But titles alone don’t explain why this work matters.

I started this initiative because I’ve lived what most people only read about. I’ve survived addiction, incarceration, withdrawal while pregnant, homelessness, and systems that blamed me instead of helping me. I’ve seen the inside of jail cells, treatment centers, and courtrooms—and now I return to those places as a professional who refuses to forget what it felt like on the other side.

What I’ve learned is this:
We’re not failing because people won’t recover. We’re failing because systems don’t let them.

Recovery isn’t something that starts after addiction. It’s part of it.
Substance use is the disorder. Recovery is the resistance.
And too many providers, professionals, and policymakers are still pretending that we don’t know better.

I created the Recovery Justice Network Initiative (RJNI) to challenge all of that. To say what needs to be said—loudly, clearly, and without compromise. To expose predatory systems, lift up real solutions, and directly fund people trying to survive a world that wasn’t built for them.

What makes me different isn’t just my degree. It’s the way my brain works. I see what others miss. I track the systems we’ve allowed to fail—and I call them out. Not because I’m angry (even though I am), but because I believe we can do better.
We
have to do better.

This isn’t performative. This is personal.
This isn’t charity. This is change.
And RJNI isn’t just mine—it belongs to everyone who’s ready to stop playing along with broken systems.

🔥 RJNI IS GROWING

We’re new. We’re learning. And we’re not perfect—but we are ready.

Recovery Justice Network Initiative is actively seeking:

  • 🔹 Volunteer Educator on Grants

  • 🔹 Two new Board Members who bring passion, vision, and lived/professional experience

We want good people with good intentions—people who are willing to build something different from the ground up. If you’ve ever felt that fire inside, the one that says “This system is wrong, and I want to help fix it,”—you belong here.

Stay tuned for the next "Meet Our Board: Will!"
