Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 · Last Updated: June 2026

Recovery Justice Network Initiative ("RJNI," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who visit our website and use our services — especially those who submit reports of injustice. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

1. Who We Are

RJNI is a nonprofit advocacy organization. We are not a law firm, a regulatory agency, or a healthcare provider. We do not provide legal advice, medical advice, or crisis intervention services. This site exists for advocacy, education, and documentation purposes.

2. Information We Collect

  • Contact Form: If you contact us via our contact form, we collect your name, email, and message content.
  • Blog Contributions: If you submit a story for publication, we collect your submitted content and any contact information you choose to provide.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Standard server logs (IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and technical maintenance purposes only.
  • We do not use tracking pixels, behavioral advertising, or third-party analytics platforms that sell your data.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To document and track patterns of injustice for advocacy and policy work
  • To respond to your inquiries or follow up on your report if you have requested contact
  • To publish survivor stories with your explicit prior consent
  • To maintain the security and operation of our website

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers, marketers, or data brokers. Ever.

4. Report Confidentiality

We take the confidentiality of injustice reports seriously. Your report will not be shared publicly without your explicit written consent. If you have submitted a report anonymously, we cannot identify you and will not attempt to do so.

RJNI may share anonymized, aggregated report data with policy partners, journalists, or researchers. This data will not contain identifying information about individual reporters.

In the rare circumstance where we receive a valid legal order compelling disclosure of specific information, we will notify the affected individual to the extent legally permitted and will comply only with what is legally required.

5. Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us immediately.

6. Your Rights

  • Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information from our systems.
  • Withdrawal: If you have consented to publication of your story, you may withdraw that consent at any time prior to publication.

To exercise these rights, contact us at our contact page.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect the information in our systems. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We encourage you to use caution when submitting sensitive information online.
